Range Description:
This species is known only from three small areas of western and south-western Cameroon: between Yabassi and Nkongsamba, at low elevations (apparently, it is absent to the west of Nkongsamba); Mount Yuhan in Korup National Park; and Mount Nta Ali in the Mamfe basin. It occurs mainly below 1,000m asl.

It lives and breeds in and near rivers and slow-flowing streams in lowland and hilly closed-canopy forest. Males call from among dead leaves on the banks close to water.

Astylosternus fallax:
Astylosternus fallax is a species of frog in the Astylosternidae family. It is endemic to Cameroon. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss.
