Habitat and Ecology:
Habitat and Ecology
It has been found in forest, and in rural gardens near forest, living on rocks. It has been noted as calling away from water, and so it is possible that, unlike other members of the genus, it does not require water for breeding, although this has not been confirmed.

Listed as Endangered because its Extent of Occurrence is probably less than 5,000 km2 and its Area of Occupancy is probably less than 500 km2, it occurs only at fewer than five locations, and the extent of its forest habitat on the Freetown Peninsula is declining.

Population:
Population
There has been no information on this species since it was last collected in 1963, but this is probably due to lack of field surveys in this area. It was described as "not rare" on the Freetown Peninsula at the time of its discovery.

Major Threats
There is likely to be extensive pressure on its forest habitat on the Freetown Peninsula primarily for firewood collection.

Conservation Actions:
Conservation Actions
It is likely to be present in the Western Area Peninsula Forest Reserve, although much more effective protection and management of this site is required. Additional survey work is urgently needed to determine the current population status of this species.
